SYNOPSIS
See — Judge — Act : The history of JOC in Québec traces the little-known history of the Jeunesse ouvrière catholique (JOC), a workers’ movement rooted in Quebec’s working-class neighborhoods since the 1930s. Through testimonies, previously unseen archival footage, and insights from experts, the film reveals nearly a century of social engagement led by young workers seeking justice and solidarity. From church basements and union struggles, this sensitive and politically engaged documentary reflects on the lasting impact of the JOC and its pivotal role in the transformations of the Quiet Revolution.
