Irréductibles

Irré­ductibles is a film about men and women who have won bat­tles that seemed lost in advance. Block­ing nuclear pow­er plants, sab­o­tage to stop pol­lu­tion at sea, ZADs to pro­tect forests — they all have one thing in com­mon: they are vic­to­ri­ous in their struggle. 

SYNOPSIS

Irréductibles is a film about men and women who have won battles that seemed lost in advance. Blocking nuclear power plants, sabotage to put an end to pollution at sea, ZADs to protect the forest... sometimes non-violently, sometimes clandestinely, what they all have in common is to be victorious in their struggle.

Olivi­er Dubuquoy is a film­mak­er, geo­g­ra­ph­er and envi­ron­men­tal activist. He is known for his com­mit­ment to defend­ing the ocean and the cli­mate. Rais­ing the alarm about red mud pol­lu­tion in the Mediter­ranean, he co-direct­ed the doc­u­men­tary film Zone Rouge (2016), and won a spe­cial jury men­tion at FIGRA 2017. In 2019, lanète Tha­las­sa broad­casts Océan nais­sance d’une Nation, a doc­u­men­tary film ded­i­cat­ed to Olivi­er Dubuquoy’s actions to make the Ocean a com­mon ground. In 2022 he com­pletes his doc­u­men­tary film Irré­ductibles, a sto­ry of com­mit­ment and vic­to­ri­ous envi­ron­men­tal­ist struggles.
