The film recounts the occu­pa­tion of the city of Sept-Îles by work­ers in May 1972, through the tes­ti­monies of activists and archival footage. 

SYNOPSIS

May 1972. Following the imprisonment of the leaders of the Front commun intersyndical during the general strike, the workers and activists of Sept-Îles spontaneously occupied the town.
Through the testimonies of a handful of activist friends and archival footage, the film recounts the reasons for the revolt, the course of events during the occupation that ended tragically, and the impact it had on the lives of those who lived through it.

Writer, direc­tor, video­g­ra­ph­er and edi­tor since 2006, I’m pas­sion­ate about film and video. I start­ed out mak­ing short films, gained expe­ri­ence, won prizes and com­pe­ti­tions, and then became inter­est­ed in doc­u­men­taries. When I’m not shoot­ing my own projects, I work on infor­ma­tion­al and aware­ness-rais­ing videos for uni­ver­si­ties and var­i­ous com­mu­ni­ty and vio­lence pre­ven­tion orga­ni­za­tions. I’ve owned my own pro­duc­tion com­pa­ny, Pro­duc­tions Trinité, since 2010.
