Anaïs Taracena
Anais Taracena is a documentary filmmaker and political science graduate. Her first feature film, El silencio del topo, was presented in more than 100 festivals around the world and received 25 international awards. Among these distinctions are the Tim Hetherington Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest, the Special Jury Prize at the Jeonju International Film Festival in South Korea, and the Special Jury Prize at the Festival Internacional de Cinema de La Habana, Cuba. She has also directed several short and medium-length films in Guatemala, the country where she lives and develops her artistic work. She is currently filming her second feature, El palpitar de los volcanes, while collaborating with social organizations as a director and cultural coordinator.
